Natural remedies for PMS include dark chocolate, chasteberry extract and natural health supplements. These natural cures for premenstrual symptoms are easy and effective.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms include anxiety, irritability, mood swings, appetite changes, weight gain, depression, fatigue, and insomnia. There are natural remedies that decrease symptoms of PMS -- and they include the natural "treatment" of delicious dark gourmet chocolate!

Some women have severe symptoms of PMS a week or two before their period, while others don't even notice they're about to menstruate until the first drop appears. PMS symptoms change throughout a woman's life, and are affected by childbirth and major illnesses.

Luckily, there are several natural remedies for PMS that effectively relieve symptoms...

Gourmet Dark Chocolate for Premenstrual Syndrome

Jamieson Laboratories is a Canadian vitamin and natural health supplement company; they created a gourmet chocolate bar that evidently relieves premenstrual symptoms. The PMS Support Chocolate Bar is made with natural botanicals such as chasteberry extract, white willow bark extract and artichoke leaf extract. The chasteberry in particular is said to relieve feelings of depression, irritability and bloating.

Ecco Bella is an American company that sells the Women's Wonder Bar, which is similar to the PMS Support Chocolate Bar. This chocolate bar contains chasteberry, flaxseed and rose essential oil, which reportedly relieves PMS symptoms.

Research hasn't been offered to support the claims of these natural health supplement companies – but it doesn't really matter. If you eat the gourmet chocolate bars and find relief from PMS, then you have all the information you need!

Natural Ways to Relieve Premenstrual Symptoms

  • Get lots of sleep.
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and heavy meals.
  • Eat fruits, veggies and whole grains.
  • Take a vitamin and mineral supplement every day.
  • Avoid salty, deep fried foods.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Reduce stress with exercise, meditation, long walks, or bubble baths.

Alternative Health Supplements for PMS

  • Black cohosh, raspberry leaf, ginger, evening primrose oil, dandelion, and chasteberry are said to relieve pms symptoms (but there is little scientific evidence that these natural botanicals are effective).
  • Vitamin E may be a PMS remedy because it reduces the hormones that cause cramps and breast tenderness.
  • Calcium could reduce the physical and psychological symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.
  • Magnesium may reduce bloating, breast tenderness, and fluid retention in women with severe PMS symptoms.

The trick is to experiment with different possibilities until you find what works for you. If you're a man whose partner needs PMS relief, consider gourmet chocolate gift baskets or luxury chocolate bars. Even if they're not effective in relieving her PMS symptoms, you get the Brownie points!
